Home School Values
What is 'Home School Values'?
'Home School Values' is a resource to help schools further strengthen links with parents by sharing with them their 'Value in Focus' each term. This term our 'Value in Focus' is FRIENDSHIP.
18 colourful double-sided sheets (one for every value in 'Values for Life'*) are packed full of fun activities for the family to do together, alongside topics to stimulate discussion and reflection.
'Home School Values' is designed to promote spiritual and moral development. It is not homework and is used most effectively when parents are really enthusiastic about exploring the value at home with their children. Parents will need to use discretion when deciding which parts of each issue of 'Home School Values' are most appropriate to the age of their children.
There are common elements to each of the 'Home School Values' sheets:
A short introduction to the aspect of the value addressed in the issue, as well as questions to discuss together.
A version of a key Bible story for each value especially written to be read about.
WORDS OF WISDOM
A wise saying to think about and reflect upon.
Facts and figures to amaze and marvel at.
A fun activity to involve all the family.
Something creative to make to take back to school for the 'Value Challenge Gallery'.
HALL OF FAME
An inspirational character who has demonstrated the value in the way they have lived their lives.
You as parents will have received a photocopied sheet with information about 'Home School Values' in your child's book bags. If you have not received one please email or call Mrs. Williams in the School Office.
