T4U Shoebox Appeal – donations needed!
This year our Worship & Vision Team have decided that they would once again like to support Teams4u, who try to make a difference to people’s lives by running a shoe box appeal each Christmas. We can do this by filling a shoe box with practical items as well as gifts which are then distributed to vulnerable children in Eastern Europe. It is particularly important this year as these families face the same challenges of Covid as we do – but without little resources like soap! The Worship & Vision Team have asked that we work together as a school family and each class bring in particular items to then be put together to make as many shoe boxes as we can.
Following our meeting we thought we would ask the children if they could bring in one item from the list allocated to their class as follows:
Year 6 – gloves, socks & pants (not adults!)
Year 5 – hair brush, comb, hair bobbles/hair accessories
Year 3 and Year 4 – skipping rope, dominoes, plasticine, yoyo, toy car, small musical toy e.g. plastic recorder, castanets (often available in Poundland or similar pound stores).
Year 1 and Year 2 – pencils, pens, felt tip pens, colouring pencils, rubbers, pencil sharpeners, notebooks
Reception – toothbrush and toothpaste, flannel and soap
We also need to send a donation of £2.50 per box towards the transport costs so if you would like to make a contribution towards this we would be very grateful. Please send this in with your child to pass to Mrs Jackson or Mrs Hill.
The shoeboxes need to be on their way before half term so that they will arrive in time for Christmas so please bring in your donations before Friday 15th October. This will then give the Worship Team members time to pack each box.
If as a family you feel that you would like to donate a completed box yourself then please ask your child to see Mrs Jackson or Mrs Hill for a leaflet.
Thank you so much for your help and support so that we can make this possible.
