Update from FOLSS
A huge thank you – On behalf of the whole school, I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along to the outdoors working party on Saturday.
As I am sure many of you have noticed, the school grounds are looking remarkably tidier. The group of parents and kids spent the day weeding, cutting grass, tidying and digging. We now have some vegetable beds ready for planting in the spring, as well as a giant polytunnel under construction.
Thank you so much to everyone who gave up their weekends to help: we had parents and kids from the following families: the Percival’s, the Sloss’s, the Jones’s, the Waldron’s, the Bailey’s, the Lowe’s, the Toseland’s, the Clucas’s, the Calladine’s, the Payne’s and our very own Mrs Tabb and Mrs Paget.
We must also mention Jay Bee Plants Sales who kindly donated a digger for the day, and Wavelength Recruitment (Rachel Shipton) who provided a lovely chip butty lunch, delivered and partly sponsored by the wonderful Nippy Chippy!
Our school could not run without the help and support of our families, so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. FOLSS will be organising another working party in Spring, watch this space for more info!
Second hand uniform – Thank you so much to everyone who has donated your preloved school uniform. We sorted through it this weekend and we now have a huge stock of good quality jumpers/cardigans/PE kit/polo tops/trousers etc. As always, please contact FOLSS on: info@folss.org.uk if you would like to purchase anything.
We are also still looking for someone to lead selling second hand uniform. Please contact: info@folss.org.uk if you could help!
Christmas cards – Christmas card orders have now shut for this year, thank you so much to those that supported and placed orders. The cards and additional Christmas items should be back with us by the 30th November and we will send them home with your child.
Your nomination really counts – £1,000 could make a big difference to the work we do. That’s why we’d be really grateful if you could nominate us in Ecclesiastical’s 12 days of giving. Your nomination could be the one that wins us £1,000. Ecclesiastical will be donating a total of £120,000 to 120 charities over 12 days in December and we’d love to be one of them.
It’s quick and easy to nominate us. Just visit www.movementforgood.com/12days, click ‘nominate now’ and enter our charity number 1094995. Nominations are open now and draws will take place each weekday from 6 December to 21 December 2021. The more nominations we get, the greater our chance of winning, so please spread the word to your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your time and support.
Reindeer Run – You should now have received your reindeer run sponsorship forms in your child’s book bag. All our school children will be doing a sponsored Christmas daily mile ‘Reindeer Run’ to raise funds for important projects and equipment in school. Please can any sponsorship money be returned before the run on the 14th December, thank you.
