Learning how to present a ‘balanced argument’ – Y6
During English, Year 6 have been learning how to present a ‘balanced argument’. We explored a range of topics, considering points ‘for’ and ‘against’ and held a lively class debate on some contentious issues! Working in groups, we discussed and formulated ideas on subjects such as: keeping wild animals in zoos, banning chocolate (!), climbing trees and making school optional. It was interesting to listen to different opinions, give our views a voice and cite examples to support our reasoning.
