OL & Geography – building river models – Y6
As part of our Geography topic about India and the importance of the River Ganges, Year 6 worked in teams outdoors to build models replicating the course of a river. We identified the physical features of a typical river from source to mouth and utilised a range of natural and man-made materials to model aspects such as the slope, channel, banks, tributaries, confluences, meanders and floodplain. With the help of some handy buckets of rain water, we were able to test whether our river models worked.
