Christmas Shoe Box Appeal
This year our Worship Team have decided that they would once again like to support Teams4u, who try to make a difference to people’s lives by running a shoe box appeal each Christmas. We can do this by filling a shoe box with practical items as well as gifts which are then distributed to vulnerable children in Eastern Europe. The Worship Team have asked that we work together as a school family and each class bring in particular items to then be put together to make as many shoe boxes as we can.
Following our meeting we thought we would ask the children if they could bring in one item from the list allocated to their class as follows:
Reception - New Socks/Underwear (ages 3-5 or 6-11)
Year 1 – Toothpaste, Hairbrush/Comb, Hair Accessories
Year 2 - Pens, Felt Tip Pens, Colouring Pencils, Small Pencil Case
Years 3/4/5/6 – Skipping Rope, Tennis Ball, Dominoes, Plasticine, Yo-Yo, Toy Car, Small Soft Toys, Small Musical Toy e.g. Plastic Recorder, Castanets (often available in Poundland or similar pound stores).
We also need to send a donation of £3 per box (cash only) towards the transport costs, so if you would like to make a contribution towards this we would be very grateful. Please send this in with your child in an envelope marked “Christmas Shoebox Donation” to pass to Mrs Jackson or Mrs Hill.
The shoeboxes need to be on their way before half term so that they will arrive in time for Christmas so please bring in your donations before Friday 14th October. This will then give the Worship Team members time to pack each box.
If as a family you feel that you would like to donate a completed box yourself then please ask your child to see Mrs Jackson or Mrs Hill for a leaflet.
Thank you so much for your help and support so that we can make this possible.
The Worship Team, Mrs Jackson and Mrs Hill
