Our Biblical Underpinning
At Leonard Stanley C of E Primary School, we have embraced the ethos of:
Loving and Learning for Life, as Jesus Taught Us.
This captures our fundamental "Christian Vision" and is drawn from aspects of the New Testament that underpin our core goals:
Loving: Jesus said "Love one another as I have loved you." (John Chp 13, v 34). We want to spread ripples of love out from our school across the county, the country and the world.
Learning: Jesus was a teacher who taught through his parables and good deeds. His disciples and followers were learning lessons for life, just like we are over 2000 years later. Jesus knew the importance of learning to children. He had discussions with the priests in the temple when he was 12 (Luke Chp 2, v 41 to 52) and made sure that children were always welcome at his side (Matthew Chp 19, v 13 to 15).
Life: "I have come that they may have life in all its fullness" (John Chp 10, v 10)
The greatest gift that we have is our life and thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, it is life eternal. We must take Jesus' teachings with us through our whole lives so that we are always guided to do good.
