Taking measurements – Y6
During Maths, Year Six explored the concept of Leonardo di Vinci’s ‘Vitruvian Man’. Working in pairs, we took a range of measurements including our feet, palms, facial features, arms, shoulders and height. We considered appropriate units of measurement for each body part (mm, cm or m) and evaluated the outcomes against a series of proportions that di Vinci postulated e.g. was our height equivalent to the width of our outstretched arms?
